定星十月照空中,楚丘动土筑新宫。
The fixed star shines in the sky in October and Chuqiu starts building a new palace.
度量日影测方向,楚丘造房正开工。
Measure the direction by observing the shadow of the sun Chuqiu is building houses in full swing.
栽种榛树和栗树,还有梓漆与椅桐。成材伐作琴瑟用。
Plant hazel and chestnut trees as well as tung trees and yitong trees. When they grow they will be cut down to make musical instruments.
登临漕邑废墟上,把那楚丘来眺望。望了楚丘望堂邑,测量山陵与高冈,走下田地看农桑。求神占卜显吉兆,结果必然很安康。
Climbing to the ruins of Caoyi I look out at Chuqiu. I look at Chuqiu and Tangyi measure the mountains and high hills and go down to the fields to observe farming and sericulture. I seek divine guidance for good omens and the result will surely be peaceful and prosperous.
好雨夜间下已停,吩咐驾车小倌人。天睛早早把车赶,歇在桑田劝农耕。他是正直有为人,内心充实又深沉。良马三千多如云。
After the good rain stopped at night I instructed the coachman. The clear sky drove the carriage early in the morning and stopped in the mulberry field to encourage farming. He is an upright and capable person with a rich and profound inner world. There are more than three thousand excellent horses like clouds.

定:The fixed star also known as the Ying Shi star. In the transition between October and November the fixed star is in the middle of the darkness indicating the need to determine the direction and build palaces.
于:In ancient times it was pronounced the same as yu and means to use.
