我真悔恨嫁做瞿塘商人妇,
I truly regret marrying as a merchant's wife in Qutang
他天天把相会的佳期耽误。
He delays our meetings day after day.
早知潮水的涨落这么守信,
If I had known the tides were so reliable
还不如嫁一个弄潮的丈夫。
I would rather have married a man who plays with the tides.
注释:
江南曲:古代歌曲名。乐府《相和歌》曲名。这是一首拟乐府,写得很有民歌色彩。
Jiangnan Qu: A title of an ancient song. A title of a song in the Yuefu folk music genre. This is a song that imitates the style of Yuefu songs and has a strong folk song flavor.
瞿塘贾:在长江上游一带作买卖的商人。瞿塘:指瞿塘峡,长江三峡之一。贾:商人。
Qutang Jia: A merchant who does business in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Qutang: Refers to Qutang Gorge one of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. Jia: Merchant.
