人生迁化必有终结，宇宙至理自古而然。
In the journey of life there must be an end and the ultimate truth of the universe has always been so.
古代传说松乔二仙，如今他们知向谁边？
In ancient legends there were two immortals named Song and Qiao but now who knows where they have gone?
故旧好友送我美酒，竟说饮下可成神仙。
An old friend gave me fine wine and even said that drinking it can make one become an immortal.
初饮一杯断绝杂念，继而再饮忘却苍天。
With the first sip all distracting thoughts are cut off and with the following sips one forgets about the existence of the heavens.
苍天何尝离开此处？听任自然无物优先。
Has the heavens ever left this place? They allow nature to prioritize over everything else.
云鹤生有神奇翅膀，遨游八荒片刻即还。
The cloud crane possesses magical wings allowing it to travel to the farthest corners of the world and return in an instant.
自我抱定任真信念，勤勉至今已四十年。
I have firmly held onto the belief of being true to myself and have diligently pursued it for forty years.
身体虽然不断变化，此心未变有何可言？
Although the body undergoes constant changes how can one speak of the unchanged heart?
注释：
连雨：连日下雨。
Continuous rain: rain that lasts for several days.
运生：运化中的生命。运：天运，指自然界发展变化的规律。生：指生命。会：当。归尽：指死亡。
The birth of life in the process of transformation. 运 refers to the natural laws of development and change in the natural world. 生 refers to life. 会 means when. 归尽 means death.
终古：自古以来。终，常。然：这样。
Since ancient times. 终 means always. 然 means like this.
松乔：神话传说中仙人赤松子与王子乔的并称。松，指赤松子，古代传说中的仙人。乔，指王子乔，名晋，周灵王的太子。好吹签，作风鸣，乘白鹤仙去。
Song and Qiao: a combination of the names of the immortals Chisongzi and Prince Qiao in mythological legends. 松 refers to Chisongzi an immortal in ancient legends. 乔 refers to Prince Qiao whose name was Jin the crown prince of King Ling of the Zhou Dynasty. They were known for playing flutes and riding white cranes to ascend to immortality.
于今：至今。定何间：究竟在何处。
Until now. Where exactly is it?
故老：故旧父老。
Old friends: old acquaintances.
乃：竟，表示不相信。饮得仙：谓饮下此酒可成神仙。
Nai: indicating disbelief. Drinking to become an immortal: means that drinking this wine can make one become an immortal.
试酌：初饮。王瑶注：“初饮。”百情：指各种杂念。远：有忘却，断绝之意。
Shizhuo: the first sip. Wang Yao's annotation: The first sip. Baiqing: refers to various distracting thoughts. Yuan: means forgetting and cutting off.
重觞：谓连饮数杯酒。忘天：忘记上天的存在。
Chongshang: means drinking several cups of wine in a row. Forgetting the heavens: forgetting the existence of the heavens.
去此：离开这里。
Leave this place.
任真：听其自然。率真任情，不加修饰。无所先：没有比这更重要的了。
Ren Zhen: letting nature take its course. Being true to oneself without embellishment. Nothing is more important than this.
云鹤：云中之鹤。用丁令威化鹤典故。
Cloud crane: a crane in the clouds. Referring to the story of Ding Lingwei transforming into a crane.
八表：八方之外，泛指极远的地方。须臾（yú）：片刻。
Biao: beyond the eight directions generally referring to very distant places. Xuyu: a moment.
独：指任真。
Du: refers to Ren Zhen.
僶俛（mǐn miǎn）：努力，勤奋。
Minmian: to strive to be diligent.
形骸（hái）：指人的形体与骨骸。化：变化。
Xinghai: refers to the physical body and bones of a person. Hua: change.
心在：指“任真”之心依然不变。
Xin Zai: refers to the heart of Ren Zhen that remains unchanged.
