译文:The east wind blowing all day long awakens the sleeping earth and the trees gradually turn green. In the evening a slight chill fills the air as a light spring rain falls urging the early blooming of spring flowers. The young man easily feels melancholy especially on this late spring day adding to his feelings of sorrow and separation.
On the high building by the water he bids farewell to the woman. Accompanied by the sound of silk and bamboo he sings a farewell song. Where will the flowing water below go? He leans on the railing of the high building watching the flowing water and people go far away until they disappear into the vast misty dusk.
注释:蝶恋花:A famous ci (a type of Chinese lyric poetry) title originally a Tang Dynasty court song also known as Yellow Gold Thread or Rolling Pearl Curtain or Phoenix Nesting on the Wutong Tree etc. It has sixty characters in double tone with four oblique tones in each of the five sentences in the front and back sections and there are two variations.
河中:Hezhong Prefecture the capital is now located in Yongji Shanxi Province.
尽日:All day long.
向晚:In the evening.
倚哀弦(xián):Refers to singing with a mournful string accompaniment.
黄金缕(lǚ):Originally refers to the newly grown goose-yellow willow branches in the poem it refers to a farewell song there is a Yuefu (a type of Chinese ancient music) song called Willow Branch.
