战乱时我和你一同逃到南方，时局安定你却独自北归家园。
During the war you and I fled to the south together but when the situation stabilized you returned to our homeland alone.
流落他乡头上已经生出白发，战后的家乡也只能见到青山。
In a foreign land white hair has already grown on my head and after the war all I can see in my hometown are green mountains.
晓行要经过许多残破的营垒，夜里只能披星露宿荒凉故关。
In the morning I have to pass through many broken fortresses and at night I can only sleep under the stars in desolate old passes.
旷野里的飞禽与枯黄的野草，将处处伴随着你的悲苦愁颜。
In the wilderness the flying birds and withered grass will accompany your sad and sorrowful face everywhere.
注释：
贼平：指平定“安史之乱”。
Zéi píng: Refers to the pacification of the An Shi Rebellion.
时清：指时局已安定。
Shí qīng: Refers to the situation being stabilized.
“旧国”句：意谓你到故乡，所见者也惟有青山如故。旧国：指故乡。
The phrase old country means that when you return to your hometown all you can see are the same green mountains. Old country refers to one's hometown.
残垒：战争留下的军事壁垒。
Cán lěi: Refers to the military fortifications left behind by the war.
