金城的衰草笼罩着寒雾，玉门的树叶在风里凋落。
The withered grass covers the cold mist in Jincheng the leaves of Yumen fall in the wind.
和你离别的时候河水刚刚满盈（或指银河？），分别的日子里，我常常在空明的月光下思念你。
When I parted with you the river was just full (or referring to the Milky Way?). In the days of separation I often miss you under the clear moonlight.
我从衡山的北面折来芳桂，又从沅水东岸摘下了兰花。
I picked fragrant laurel from the north side of Hengshan and plucked orchids from the east bank of the Yuan River.
可是采下的兰花芳桂时的情怀又怎样传达呢。
But how can the feelings when picking orchids and laurel be conveyed?
注释：
云中：An ancient county name. Originally a Zhao territory during the Warring States period it became a county under the Qin dynasty with its capital in Yunzhong County (now northeastern Togtoh County Inner Mongolia). During the Han dynasty its jurisdiction was relatively small. Sometimes it refers to the border areas.
沅水：A tributary of Dongting Lake in the Yangtze River basin. It flows through Guizhou and Hunan provinces in China.
