去年春风中百花盛开，和你相会欢乐无涯。
In the spring breeze last year flowers bloomed and we met with boundless joy.
你高声歌唱长吟诗篇，插花酣饮何其豪雅！
You sang loudly and recited poems enjoying the pleasure of flower arrangement and drinking.
我畅饮美酒喝得沉醉，不离去随意在你家住下。
I drank the delicious wine and got drunk and I stayed at your home without leaving.
谁知道今年竟然痛哭着为祭奠你来到了你家，怎能忍心送出那牵攀我心魂载着你长别的车马。
Who would have known that this year I would come to your home in tears to mourn for you how could I bear to send away the carriage that carries my heart and soul and takes you away forever?
春日耀眼的光辉一如往昔，花已破蕾兰草长出了嫩芽。
The dazzling light of spring is as bright as before the flowers have bloomed and the grass has grown tender shoots.
只是再也看不见你亲切面容的光华，你飘忽的精神魂魄，悠悠远去跟随着朝霞。
But I can no longer see the radiance of your kind face your elusive spirit and soul drifting away with the morning glow.
归来后我心中满是悲伤，什么饮食也吞咽不下，见墙壁上你遗留的墨迹，如同栖息着的点点乌鸦。
After returning my heart is filled with sadness I can't swallow any food and I see the ink marks you left on the wall like scattered ravens perching.
哀痛啊！就此同你生死永隔，使我伤心泪水在斜风中不断落下。
Oh the sorrow! From now on we are forever separated by life and death making my tears fall continuously in the slanting wind.
注释：
曼卿：作者友人诗人石延年，字曼卿，宋城（今河南商丘）人。累举进士不第，以武臣叙迁得官，官至太子中允、秘阁校理。
Manqing: A friend of the author poet Shi Yannian whose courtesy name is Manqing. He was from Songcheng (now Shangqiu Henan). He took the imperial examination several times but did not pass. He obtained an official position as a military officer and eventually became the Tai Zi Zhong Yun and the Secretariat Supervisor.
无涯：无尽。
Wuya: endless.
恸（tòng）哭：痛哭。奠：设酒食以祭。
Tongku: to cry bitterly. Dian: to offer food and wine as a sacrifice.
忍：怎忍，不忍。攀魂车：指牵攀自己灵魂的友人灵车。
Ren: how can I bear it can't bear it. Panhunche: refers to the carriage that carries the friend's soul that is attached to one's own soul.
春辉：春日阳光。
Chunhui: the bright sunlight of spring.
破颣（lèi）：犹破蕾。颣，丝上的结，比喻花蕾。一本作“破蕾”。
Polei: similar to polie (flower bud). Lei refers to the knot on a silk thread metaphorically representing a flower bud. Some versions read polie (flower bud).
精魂：精神魂魄。
Jinghun: spirit and soul.
呜呼：叹词，此处表悲痛。
Wuhu: an interjection expressing grief and sorrow.
