秋天里的树林郁郁苍苍，满山的树叶一片金黄。
In the autumn forest the trees are lush and green and the leaves on the mountains are golden.
栖居在山里的鸟儿，欢聚在桑林中放声歌唱。
The birds living in the mountains gather in the mulberry forest and sing loudly.
故乡山水养育了丰满的羽毛，使它的形体和容貌格外鲜亮。
The homeland's mountains and rivers nourish its plump feathers making its figure and appearance exceptionally bright.
天边飘来的五彩云霞，把她带进天下最好的深宫闺房。
The colorful clouds drifting from the horizon bring her into the best palace in the world.
可叹那离宫幽室实在空旷寂寞，金丝鸟般的娇躯总也见不到阳光。
It is lamentable that the remote palace is empty and lonely and the delicate body of the golden bird never sees the sunlight.
梦想和思念沉重地压在心头，笼中的鸟儿却不能自由的翱翔。
Dreams and longing weigh heavily on the heart but the bird in the cage cannot fly freely.
虽说是美味佳肴堆放在面前，心儿徘徊茶不思来饭不香。
Although delicious food is piled up in front of me my heart is restless and I have no appetite for tea or food.
为什么唯独我这么苦命，来来去去的好事总也轮不上。
Why am I the only one with such a miserable fate always missing out on good things?
翩翩起舞的紫燕，飞向那遥远的西羌。
The graceful dancing swallows fly towards the distant Western Qiang.
巍巍耸立的高山横在眼前，滔滔流淌的大河流向远方。
The towering mountains stand in front of me and the surging river flows into the distance.
叫一声家乡的爹和娘啊，女儿出嫁的道路又远又长。
Calling out for my parents in my hometown the road for a daughter's marriage is long and far.
唉！你们可怜的女儿呀，忧愁的心儿满怀悲痛和哀伤。
Alas! Poor daughter of yours her heart is filled with sorrow and grief.

苞桑：丛生的桑树。
苞桑 refers to a cluster of mulberry trees.
